Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　乾隆年间国泰民安，百姓安居乐业欣欣向荣过的是好不快活。　　皇上在御前侍卫高迪的陪同下前往江南体恤民情。在皇上出宫后一长阴谋正在展开，一位野心勃勃的王爷竟然暗地与当地黑帮勾结一路追杀皇帝。　　在前往惠州城的路上遇上了从京城逃婚离家的野蛮格格贾仁。经过一场“恶斗”后三人决定一同上路，在惠州城的集市遇到了在集市中摆擂台的“洋鬼子”元宵。元宵在比试中输给了贾仁格格执意要让贾仁格格收他为徒。三人想尽办法却无法摆脱元宵，无奈只能收下元宵为徒。半夜在惠州城的某客栈，突然出现蒙面黑衣人刺杀皇帝，还好刺客技艺不精，皇帝没有受到半点伤害。高迪决定四人连夜赶往他的老家避难。　　在高迪家中，皇上遇到高迪的表妹惠乔，皇上对惠乔一见倾心，贾仁格格也慢慢的爱上了那个英俊风流的侍卫高迪。贾仁格格与元宵在回家的路上遇到一对奇丑无比的恋人。两人因为相貌丑陋所以年过四十还没成家。善良的贾仁格格便与众人一起帮助这对苦命鸳鸯筹办婚礼，终于让这对苦命恋人有情人终成眷属。皇上与惠乔，高迪与贾仁在这段日子感情也逐渐升温。岂料此时皇上与惠乔被蜻蜓帮绑架，高迪与贾仁心急如焚，托朋友四处打听皇上与惠乔的下落。　　绑架皇上的正是蜻蜓帮的帮主夫人瑶，此女人也曾经是皇上的爱人，当年为了皇帝背叛帮会。由爱生恨，此女对皇上当年弃之不顾的事耿耿与怀。但是在与皇帝相处的这段日子里旧情复燃并偷偷的通知高迪皇帝被囚禁之处。　　在与众人的帮助下高迪终于找到了皇帝的所在，但在这个时候元宵露出了狐狸尾巴，众人没有想到元宵竟然是蜻蜓帮的人，在这个关键时候元宵倒戈相向。所幸的是元宵的背叛并没有个给大家带来什么麻烦，最后还是将皇帝从蜻蜓帮的魔爪之中救出。通过这次危难四人的感情更是牢固，最后成就了这一段错体姻缘。
