　　佐藤铃（道本成美）为了逃避母亲（南久松真奈）的过度干涉，在川上信夫（泉知束）的引导下，前往东京的一处房产进行内览。尽管被告知前住户山本孝雄（岩永ひひお）因欠租而失踪，铃仍被这处优质房产所吸引。信夫提议她单独继续内览时，铃顺从了他的建议。然而，她在房中听到某种不祥的声音，被引导着打开了一扇通往异世界的门，随后被强行拉了进去。醒来后，她发现自己身处一座荒废的巨大建筑中，迷茫中遇到了自称山本孝雄的男子。这个空间被某个怪物所支配，既无法逃脱，也无法死去，真正的无间地狱。

　　「他人は地獄だ」は、地方から上京してきたユウが、不気味な入居者が暮らすシェアハウス「方舟」への入居をきっかけに、不可解な出来事が発生するサスペンスホラーだ。ヨンキ氏が描いたスリラー漫画の舞台を日本に置き換え、八村はユウ、柳は「方舟」のリーダー的存在のキリシマ、そしてユウの恋人・メグミを岡田が演じる。

　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
