根据徐贵祥同名小说改编。 铁匠的儿子石平阳带着父亲的嘱托参军来到炮兵部队。他的一股冲劲,受到营长庄必川的喜爱,老班长李四虎更喜欢石平阳不服输的劲头。李四虎是技术尖子,他对新战士训练十分严格,新战士进步很快。他把石平阳视作接班人,要在自己退伍之前把经验全部传授给石平阳,甚至以故意装病,让石平阳独立完成训练课目。石平阳进步很快,年终还荣立了三等功。和他一起入伍的女兵张媚对他也另眼看待。教导队招收骨干,进教导队就能报考军校,成为军官。营长担心比武缺了石平阳影响成绩,因此改派与石平阳一同入伍的王北风去了教导队。机会得而复失,石平阳有些想不通。父亲去世了,指导员让他回家料理,但他走到半路,想起父亲的嘱托,毅然返回连队。李四虎复员了,石平阳接任班长,他把老班长的好传统全部继承下来,爱兵、爱炮、爱部队,技术精益求精。同时入伍的王北风和张媚进了军校,石平阳仍然当班长。排长调走了,石平阳任代理排长,这时,他入伍已有八年。团里为了留住他,让他准备报考军校。就在这时,新战士刘发展一封虽事出有因但严重失实的告状信,使他又失去了上军校的机会。石平阳要复员了,副团长庄必川舍不得他离开,从车站把他接回,团党委特别决定把他留下。石平阳又回到排里,他对刘发展更严格、更耐心训练和要求,使刘发展深感内疚。几年后,参谋王北风到部队检查工作,见到石平阳仍是上士,不免生出许多感触。在集团军的军事演习中,石平阳指挥火炮群的准确射击,令首长和指挥员们赞叹不已。石平阳多年操纵的火炮由新式火炮取代了,他虽有些恋恋不舍,但他立即和战友们开始学习掌握新的火炮,迎接新的挑战。不久,石平阳被破格提拔为中尉连长。

根据余华同名小说改编。富少福贵(葛优)嗜赌成性,妻子家珍(巩俐)屡劝无果后带着女儿凤霞离开了他,当夜,福贵输光所有家产气死父亲,被迫靠变卖母亲首饰租间破屋过活。一年后,家珍手拉凤霞怀抱刚出世的儿子有庆回到家中,福贵痛改前非,开始靠演皮影戏过起安份守己的日子。但好景不常,内战时期,福贵被国民党抓去当劳工,一番辗转终回到家乡与一家人团圆后,凤霞因病变成哑巴,而在后来的大跃进运动和文化大革命中,他虽获某些小福,逆境却也一直与他如影相随。
Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart. Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory? n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in. What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts. On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired. One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places. Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
