　　The first feminist vegan horror film, The Herd has been rejected by some film festivals for being too horrific or political. A number of kidnapped women are kept imprisoned in a squalid medical facility condemned to a life of enforced servitude at the whims of their captors, without any hope of rescue or escape.

　　After serving two years on a military outpost in the middle of an ocean – four soldiers are waiting for a new crew to replace them. When the long-awaited boat finally appears, it’s empty with no relief on board. When trying to find out what happened to the boat and the missing crew, they realize they’ve lost all communications with home. Cut off from the rest of the world and no one coming to get them, Baines, Sullivan, Cassidy and Hendryx must fight with suspicions about each other and find a new way to get home. If home still exists.

 郑新（王福友 饰）是青年钻井队的队长，身上肩负着非常重大的责任。钻井队派出了开发新油田的任务，郑新当之无愧的成为了任务的受领人，这也就意味着，他将离开熟悉的家乡，离开在这里生活的爱人和朋友们，只身一人前往荒无人烟之地。当郑新将这个消息告诉了自己的未婚妻张兰兰（陈丽明 饰），得知了这个消息，张兰兰的脸上失去了笑容。她想要郑新离开钻井队，和自己一样过普通人的生活，如果郑新执意要去执行那么艰苦的任务的话，那么自己将选择离开。最终，郑新用行动做出了选择，他踏上了前往月亮湖新油区的旅途。
