李翰祥一身兼編導兩職所炮製的《皇帝保重》，內有三個以男女情色為主題的單元故事，戲謔一眾色中餓鬼。〈袋中春〉一劇描述六旬漢劉老吉（谷峰）本買來一位雙十姑娘，豈料洞房之夜給一書生以老嫗掉包；第二單元〈春色無邊〉講述大官詹筆峰（李鵬飛）除被青春風騷的潘寡婦（陳萍）騙去千兩黃金外，更被迫娶老寡婦為妻；最後之〈皇帝保重〉則寫同治皇帝（汪禹）因想盡享魚水之歡而出宮嫖妓，後染上性病的野史。
